Arrangements
This is where we create the experience and set the tone for all that will follow. The funeral director will set the structure of the tentative agenda for what we call our "Meeting of the Minds". Though this process we will summarize the funeral directors role in the planning process, emphasize the importance of planning a personalized, meaningful funeral and to review goals for the arrangement conference.
Goals include:
Learning about your family and your loved one who has passed - "Tell the Story"
Helping the family understand the many opportunities they have to both celebrate and mourn the life.
Make decisions with all the information provided to create a healing, meaningful funeral experience.
Typically a funeral arrangement is broken down to three main sections:
The Vital Statistics for the death certificate
Service Information
Payment Options
What to Expect when you arrive at Floyd A. Williams Funeral Home

For cremations, the director will go over all additional necessary authorizations and will require the minimum of a photo for identification purposes
Contacting all insurance providers to coordinate funeral assignments so you do not have to be inconvenienced by excessive paperwork
Guiding you through finalizing your loved ones estate (i.e. Probate)
Following up and staying connected with you from the first call through the services.
Please note that our directors will come to you if you are not feeling comfortable or up to coming into the funeral home. All arrangements can be made within the comfort of your own home.

Service Options
You and the ones you love are at the very center of the process, and the choices you make will determine its significance for you. As you participate in the planning of the funeral service, you help create a meaningful experience for everyone.

Cremation
Cremation is an alternative to the burial process and it is chosen by many people because of religious beliefs, the desire to preserve the environment or it was requested by the person who died. The remains are placed in a container that is combustible and placed in a special furnace called a cremation chamber or a crematory where through intense heat is reduced to bone fragments that are then crushed and pulverized to resemble course sand.

Burial
Traditionally, a burial service involves a visitation, followed by a funeral service in a church, or other place of worship. The casket is typically present at both these events, and it is your decision on whether to have the casket open or not. You have the option of having the remains interred (earth burial), or it may be entombed in a crypt inside a mausoleum (above ground burial).

Personalize the Service
We encourage families to create very personalized services. It is important to acknowledge that life that has been lived and to offer to the community a way in which to celebrate that life. By offering services and memorialization features that are personal and special, a unique life can be remembered and honored in an individualized way that is comforting to the family and friends.
