Family Ownership
We are a family-owned and operated firm, now in our second generation. We are proud of our roots in the community and are honored that people continue to turn to us during their time of need. Unlike major corporate owned funeral homes, our focus is on the families we serve. As part of the community, we can help as only a neighbor can.
Our Standard of Service
Our multicultural staff members go through a two-year training program to develop their skills in dealing with grieving families and caring for the deceased. We require continuing education credits that far exceeds the minimum state requirements. Our commitment to continuous improvement provides an invaluable resource to families through our directors’ vast range of knowledge and experience. We are proud to have professionally respected funeral directors running the day-to-day operation of the funeral home, but they have found it necessary to pour into the next generation of caregivers. The Floyd A. Williams Funeral Home has committed to exploring the best ways to connect with our community in the most meaningful way to impact society as a whole. We have found that one way is by investing in future directors of the industry, as seen in our FUTURE initiative for aspiring mortuary students.
Our Facilities
Our facility has been completely renovated and expanded to accommodate the needs of our families and individuals entrusted to our care ,while additionally adhering to building codes and current standards. We invite you to stop by anytime to view our comfortable, welcoming facilities. We have seen the importance of upgrading our facility in order to meet all handicap accessibility needs whether it comes to our chapel space, lounge, restrooms or parking.
We have reserved street parking in front of our facility on Columbia Road and Bird Street. There is free off-street parking in the City's community lots, but additionally, we have coordinated with a neighboring church to secure additional off-street parking for your guests.
Our Community
We have invested in our community in multiple ways starting with our ascetic uplift and interior renovation to our community outreach programs. Considering our 40 years located in the Upham’s Corner area, we have witnessed a bustling Boston neighborhood, retail district, rich in history and filled with opportunities for innovation. This commercial district serves a diverse mix of neighborhood residents, commuters, and employees of nearby businesses. It is easily accessible from I-93 and is located along a major commuter route into Boston, with people traveling by bus, Fairmount/Indigo Line, the Red Line, and by car.
