To the Neblett family, My sincere condolences for your loss. His obituary was quite moving. I never knew Roy when he was not affected by his illness, but the love of his wife, children and friends were a true testament to the man that he was... He had a sweet nature and a good soul and I consider it a privilege to have cared for him and to have met Mrs Neblett. Mrs Neblett, your dedication and strength was unwavering. The Neblett family... my heart is heave to know We only come together for weddings and funerals. If I could change one thing, it would be for the cousins to be close. We are so large it is only right our children know and communicate with each other. Family was so important to the Neblett family. Uncle Roy is the last of the brothers that created this large family of cousins and we are all separated.
My grandfather Lambert loved family and it meant so much to him. He would bring me to visit uncle Roy and aunt Pat so I could spend time with my cousins. I felt so welcome, I enjoyed this time since I am an only child. I always had fun.
I remember the first time I flew on a plane. My Papa and I flew to Boston, I believe it was for a yearly get together on Labor Day. I had so much fun. At the time I was too young to understand the ramifications of the distance the family had.
When I got married my husband would join us to visit. uncle Roy always welcomed him. My husband still talks about these teriyaki fries aunt Pat made. Now that Papa and uncle Roy have passed what will bring us together now??? May be a reunion, a text message, a poke or wave on Facebook. If there is one thing I learned being a Neblett is family is very important. I love you uncle Roy you will always be in our hearts.
