Obituary of Lakeshia D. Sumpter
Lakeisha Dawn Sumpter was the daughter of David Hale and Vaughnda Payne. Lakeisha was born on June 20, 1978 in Boston Massachusetts.
Keisha and Kiki Dawn which were the names her family, and friends called her attended Boston High School and was raised in Dorchester Ma with her Grandmother Ella Sumpter. Keisha worked as a youth counselor at the Home for Little Wanderers, and as a preschool teacher assistant for Field of Daysi’s Family childcare.
Lakeisha was a wonderful mother, who gave unconditional love to her daughter Keishawnah Taylor-Sumpter. As a single parent she pressed on to install values, ethics and morals to her daughter. Even in the mist of her medical struggles Keisha gave motherhood her all.
Lakeisha possessed a magnetic caring and nurturing persona. Her spirit was just as big as her heart. She was known and valued in her community as Big Pun, because of her stature. Once you got to know her, you were blessed to experience her soft, gentle, kind and humble spirit. Keisha was also known for her big smile, high-pitched laugh, and warm tender embraces. Keisha, her family and her friends did not view her hobbies as dancing, biking, or camping, Nonetheless she had the best hobby one could ever have, proving genuine, pure, loving, and deep embraces to and from all her family and friends, along with great advise and a place to lay your head and a hot home cooked meal.
Lakeisha leaves to cherish her memories: her mother Vaughnda L Payne; her father David L Hale (Dolores); her grandmother Ella Sumpter; her daughter Keishawnah Sumpter; her siblings Okimia Sumpter, Antoinie Payne, Angelique Payne, Sheri Walton, Vaughnda Walton, Gena Porter, Imari Jeffreys, David Hale, Sandra Hale, Lynette Castro (Jose), Laurina Christopher (Eric), James Thomas (Tamara); her brother-nephew Oku (Rakim) Sumpter; her extended siblings Steven K.
