Obituary of Paulette Kristine Ford
Our community sadly lost a Historical pillar on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, when
Mrs. Paulette Ford passed away. Her contributions include the founding of the
Camfield Tenants Association, where she served as President for 25 years.
Paulette led in the Camfield Estates Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
Demolition Disposition (Demo-Dispo) program, which later became Camfield
Estates; the prototype for all HUD Demo-Dispo development projects nationwide.
Camfield Estates continues to provide suitable, affordable housing, a community
center, resources to families, children, and adults of the city of Boston and sparks
hope and promise for a better future.
Paulette assisted in Boston's city planning efforts to rebuild several
neighborhoods to meet the social-economic and environmental needs of the
communities throughout the city of Boston. Paulette Ford was a selfless, trusted
servant of the City, a community leader, and advocate for equal opportunity and
social justice. Mrs. Ford also served as an Educator for Boston Public Schools for
over 30 years. Following in the foot steps of her mother, Jeannette Bowen, Tri-
State Director for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, she became a proud
member of the organization as well.
Paulette is survived by loving communities in the City of Boston, her
husband of 50 years, Richard Ford, and their children: Jeannette Ford, Angelique
Ford, Tasha García, Paulette M. Ford, and Richard S. Ford II; along with son-in-law
Reynaldo García and her grandchildren Reina García, Brenton Ford, and her
great grandchildren Trinity Ford, and Yandel Roehena.
Paulette is also survived by her siblings: Melanie Wilson, David Purvis, and Raymond Bowen and others.
