To the Cox family, My heartfelt condolences. I first met Celestine when she was performing in Black Nativity many years ago. One day, Celestine came to ABCD to see our President/CEO to put in her request for tickets to our annual dinner. That is when we connected. From that point on, I could count on a call from her making sure I was up on the neighbor activities especially around the holidays. She wanted to make sure I got my turkey at Thanksgiving and my grandbaby had Globe Santa for Christmas. Celestine loved ABCD and the staff and would often stop by to share fruits and vegetables with us. She also looked forward to attending our annual dinner with her friend and would call me in July to make sure I put her on the list for the dinner in November. Last year it looked like there would not be any extra tickets. When I told Celestine the bad news, I could feel her disappointment, not for herself, but for her friend who always attended with her. That's where her heart was, always thinking of others. God is great and I managed to get two tickets for her and her friend. When I went to check on her at the dinner, she gave me the biggest hug and couldn't thank me enough. I was truly touched by her sincere and genuine appreciation. I hope I am blessed to meet another "Celestine" in my life. I will miss her with her red cart.
