Obituary of Frederick Banks
Frederick Banks was born June 19, 1962 in Holly Hill, South Carolina, the son of JoAnn (Sweatman) Banks and Ernest Banks, Sr. Fredrick, fondly known as Freddy, was one of five children in the Banks family.
Freddy attended the Boston Public School System until the 10th grade. With the encouragement from Kathleen Blakley and Blakley family, our long time close neighbors; Freddy found himself transitioning into the Boston Trade School where he specialized in Art. Arts and Painting became a fond passion of his but Freddy understood that he would need to help pay bills.
That’s when he started a new career at the well-known, Clinton Market in Roslindale, MA. The current owner of Clinton’s, Maitland Forde was gracious enough to offer him a job, as a Butcher. where he dedicated 20 plus years of his life. This was not just a working relationship but one that mentored and supported him. Mr. Forde,
who he referred to as “Pops”, became like a father-figure to Freddy.
This career opportunity served multiple purposes in his life, especially when life blessed him with five children, who over the years, came to know him as their protector, as well as their Dad. Freddy loved to spending time with his family and friends, as well as cooking. He loved to play Spades, Tonk and was known to be true dance machine, Freddy loved to have a good old time.
