Mr Rosa loved his children! I was a teacher at the Mather School and had Stephanie in fourth grade and knew all the children. They were all smart, good students and the nicest children. One day I asked Mr Rosa how he raised such a good family and he said ‘I just love them’. I never forgot that! Love is the important ingredient!

I’ll never forget working up the nerve to ask Jose to rent me and my sisters the attic apt on Humphrey Street. We had small babies at the time and were just trying to find a safe place that we could call home. I asked Jose and immediately it was “no problem”. Forever greatful ~ Cabral Family
