Dixie Lee Bufford was born October 19, 1949, in Ridgely, Maryland to the late Howard Oliver Wright and Bertha Harris-Wright. She was the forthof seven children. She departed this life on February 28, 2019, at home surrounded by family.

Dixie relocated from Ridgely,Maryland toCentreville, Maryland to Boston, Massachusetts after graduating high school. She met and married her Boaz, Clance Bufford on April 18, 1977. Dixie was a loving, selfless woman, always putting others before herself. As a mother of eleven children, she always had children in her home. Dixie was a nurturing person by nature, and her home was a place of refuge for many. Dixie had an open door, and everyone who entered through the doors felt welcomed. Many came to her seeking love, guidance, and advice. She always directed people to pray and seek God, which is how she lived and operated. Dixie lived in love, walked in love, and followed love. She would always tell us God called me to walk in love. Dixie did not hesitate to help if she was aware of a need.

Dixie was a member of the Anointed Biblical Scriptures and ministered through song in many of the churches in the surrounding Boston Area and at the City of Boston’s annual Gospel Fest.

She loved to sing unto the Lord.
