Obituary of Queenie Elizabeth Richardson

Queenie Elizabeth (Wilson) Richardson was born on May 1, 1950, on Sapelo Island, Georgia, to John and Susie Wilson. She was one of 6 children raised on Sapelo, where she attended the local elementary school and went onto Todd-Grant High School in Darien, GA. Sapelo was where she began her Journey and established her relationship with her Lord and Savior; through her observation of the sermons at 1stAfrican Baptist Church; from the blessing of the examples and reinforcement that came from the home. This upbringing resonated a giving and loving spirit within Miss Queenie.

Queenie got word of the opportunities in the North and found herself migrating to Massachusetts, to be closer to her siblings that already travel her path. Queenie wanted to enrich her mind and start a career path, therefore she attended Salem State College to obtain a higher education, while working at Solomon Carter Fuller, as a Case Worker. This drive to establish a life for herself, was not limited to just education but also building relationships.

In October of 1993, Queenie married the late Ralph Ervin Richardson in Saint Louis, Missouri. Through this union, Queenie saw more of what life had to offer. Living in Fayetteville, North Carolina was quite an experience, that allowed her to appreciate the love of her family but also allowed her to get closer to God and his Word.

Even though Queenie was a very private person, she was obedient toGod when she found someone that was not just a “Passer By”. In NorthCarolina, she gained a spiritual mother, Sis. Charity Morrisey, who rode the hills and valleys of life with her.

Queenie moved on to find her original path, back to the Northshore, in the Eastern part of Massachusetts. Here she worked and established relationships while working for Cambridge Hospital. Through the administrative changes and merge, that refaced the organization to now be known as, Cambridge Health Alliance, showed her value to the team and her loyalty to her position, as an account specialist. The perseverance to contribute, regardless of age or circumstance, lead her team of colleagues to let her know that is was, “Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant”.

Queenie always functioned as a True Child of God. God was her guidance through life, wherever she resided in life, she knew she had two homes to find. After leaving Sapelo, she joined other churches that feed her soul, such as Grace Episcopal Church in Everett, MA or Grace Community Church in Boston, MA and Eagle Heights Church in Revere, MA. Her fellowship within each House of God brought her peace and grace, whether through volunteering or while singing in the choir. Queenie was wise to reach out and establish another solid spiritual relationship, with Dr. M.M. Campbell, a spiritual leader from the Alpha & Omega Healing Ministries, in Boston, MA. She knew who came first in her life and who should be first in the lives of others.

Queenie leaves to cherish in her memory: her siblings: Sylvia Wilson, Lorraine (Walter Sr.) McDuffy, Steve Wilson. She also leaves her nieces and nephews: Ernie (Terri) Wilson, Vanessa (Charles) Russell, Valarie Mitchell, Troy Darryl (Tracey) Wilson, Yolene A. Wilson, Dwuon Wilson, Walter McDuffy Jr., Curt (Rachael) Wilson, Emmanuel McDuffy, Andre M. Wilson, Jeanine Thomas, Joyce Thomas, Dorothy Thomas and Steve Wilson and Jason Wilson. Her Spiritual Sister: Charity Morrissey and Dr. M.M. Campbell, her God-Daughter, Ciarra (Michael)Russell-Martel and her very special friend, Rita Milton Yogananda.

Queenie has a host of relatives and friends that are additionally going to miss her dearly but know that they will meet again.

As she reunites with her family members who preceded her in death: Mother, Susie Wilson; her father, John Wilson; Grandmother, Sylvia Overstreet and her sister, Elaine Williams and Mamie Wilson.
