Obituary of Colin Thompson
Colin George Thompson, age 57, of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away Friday, October 18th, 2019 at his home in Jamaica Plain, MA. Colin was born on February 13th, 1962 in London, England to the late Leonard and Mavis Thompson. When Colin was twelve years old, the family moved back to Jamaica where he spent his teenage years.
Colin gained entrance into the prestigious Vere Technical High School and graduated with several subjects. After graduation from Vere Technical High School he worked for Jamalco. In 1990 Colin married Lorraine Copeland and shortly thereafter moved to Boston, Massachusetts. Colin and Lorraine were married for 29 years and their union produced two sons; Colin Thompson and Matthew Thompson. Colin worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Mental Health Worker for eighteen years.
Colin was a loving husband and father. He had an excellent mathematical mind and was an avid researcher of technological tools. A connoisseur of music and film, Colin acquired volumes of content, which he loved to share with family and friends. Among his peers, Colin was an optimistic individual who loved laughing and engaged in intense debates about sports, dominoes and reggae music. Colin had a great sense of humor and a unique laugh that would travel through the house. Colin was sincere, modest and cherished all life had to offer.
Colin is survived by his wife; Lorraine, children; Colin and Matthew, his siblings, Craig, Leonard, Derek, Cornell, Jennifer, Judith and a host of nieces and nephews. Colin was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother. Colin will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, he will be in our hearts forever.
