What a man. One who always greeted you with a smile, always encourage and gave praise when it was due.Wenley , you will be missed. No longer would we see you in that corner playing the guitar on Sundays during Sunday Worship. No longer would we hear that voice declaring Mystery Mystery when we go on those trips in October but we have the memories and they are remarkable. When you visited Barbados you made it your mission both you and Sis.Thorne to visit my mother-in-law who resides in a nursing home and when you couldn't make it you always ask on her behalf. Many thanks to both you and Sis. Thorne from my husband and myself. Our church family will miss you but we know that you are resting in the arms of Our Lord and Savior and we will meet again some day. Condolences to Reverend Doctor Thorne and all family members from Dorothy,Allister,Regina, Regal and Reginald Sealy.

My deepest condolences to Dr. Thorne and the rest of the family. It is a trying time, but God will bring you through. Brother Thorne was a very kind, caring, patient and happy person. He will truly be missed.
No longer will I see him playing guitar on Sunday; no longer will I hear him quote one of his favorite scriptures, Psalms 34:19; no longer will I hear him recite his favorite poem, "O what a man!." No longer will I see that smiling face. He will truly be missed.

I extend my deepest sympathy to you and the family, Dr. Thorne, there is little I can say that will comfort you in this hour of your bereavement. Wenley was my good friend. I met him forty years ago, and I remember his Volkswagen, I also remember going on that trip in 1980 to PA with the group for a weekend, we had a good time. I remember talking to him around Christmas, and now he is gone. But he is not gone forever, he is just away.
May God bless you and keep you in this hour of sorrow.

Dr. Thorne, may you be encouraged and know that I am praying for you, and remember that God promised He will never leave you or forsake you. I was saddened by the news of the death of your devoted husband, Wenley Thorne who was my friend and brother. My heart is still heavy. His sudden passing was a great blow to those who knew him. It was my privilege to know him for the past fifty years. We shared sweet fellowship and swallowship with him at church, at home, and at play.
No one ever again will embody all his traits, especially on the bus trips. He was a kind, hard working, energetic man.. No one who whose privilege it was to know him, is likely to forget the warm and glowing brightness of his friendship, and that BROAD CATCHY SMILE.
We will miss him, may he rest in peace.
In closing, I should like to paraphrase the words of the great Abraham Lincoln, who, in a memorable address, said: The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what 'he' did here"
Please accept for yourself, and all who mourn with you our assurance of heartfelt sympathy.

We would like to extend a heartfelt prayer to all the members of the Thorne Family, during this most difficult and transitional time. We light this candle to pay tribute to a life ‘passed and a legacy revealed.
Keeping a light burning is our form of remembrance; signifying that his memory still lives on and burns bright. We pray that this memorial candle: celebrates the life of your loved one, brings peace and comfort to your family and loved ones, and eases some of the pain of your loss. We hope that your support system will be revealed; as you read the words of those who post their LOVE, send their cards & flowers or even their embrace while they pay their respect.
Being now like family, we hope you will see our genuine hearts and will understand that we are here; to listen & keep things confidential, to provide guidance & direct you to the appropriate resources to maneuver through the storm.
