Rev. Clyde Edward Gray, Sr. was born June 17th, 1936 in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, West Indies to the parents of James and Blanche Gray (both deceased). He was the fifth of seven siblings. Clyde, Sr. attended Belmont Methodist elementary school, and Belmont Boys R.C. (Roman Catholic) High school. After leaving high school Clyde worked as a Law-Clerk in Trinidad and eventually became a police officer with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Force, where he worked for nine years. Clyde, Sr. migrated to the United States of America in August 1967 and got married to Estella Williams that very year in Boston, Massachusetts. His first job in the U.S.A. was a security guard after which he was employed by the U. S. Federal Gov't (Dept. of Veterans Affairs) for 21 year and retired in 1997, to God be all the glory. Clyde, Sr. became involved in the Prison Outreach ministry in 1980, directed a team of volunteers in some of the major state prisons in Massachusetts, namely- M. C. I. Walpole, M. C. I. Gardener, North Eastern, M.C. I. Norfolk, M. C. I. Concord. He also served as a Chaplin at the M. C. I. Framingham, M. C. I. Shirley and Bay State Correctional Facilities. Clyde, Sr. resigned from the Prison ministry in December 2012 after 32 years of service, due to Parkinson's disease, which he fought for many years. Clyde, Sr is well known for his sayings when asked how he's doing, he always reply All is well, all is well, "God is a good God" and You might be knock down, but not knocked out, you can rise again with victory in Jesus name. His favorite scripture, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge GOD and He will direct your path." (Proverbs 3: 5-6). Clyde, Sr. was predeceased by his parents and siblings Gordon, Nydia, Irwin, and Glenda. Clyde, Sr. left behind his wife Estella, his one and only son Clyde Jr., siblings: Hollis and Clifford, six nephews, five nieces and grand nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
