Please share a memory of Jean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jean Elaine Dear (Aunt Jean), 83, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at her home in Boston, Massachusetts. She was born on June 16, 1937 in St. Michael, Barbados to Kenneth Baird and Muriel Dear. Jean grew up in St. Michael, Barbados. She attended Grace Hill Girls School then went on to work at Paradise Beach Club for many years. Jean gave birth to her beloved son, Kelvin Dear, on August 28th, 1976. On March 7, 1983, she immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts to join her family. There she became an involved member of the Pentecostal Church and began working at Boston Park Plaza as a Rooms Specialist. She worked there for countless years and received many accolades, including multiple Employee of the Month awards. Jean was small in stature but mammoth in will and spirit. She was brave, independent, witty, and had an excellent memory. She enjoyed singing hymns and listening to gospel music in her spare time. Jean is survived by her sisters Lacey and Sheila Dear; her nieces Cornel Louis, Cheryl Dear, Jessica Keith, Carolyn Kinch; her nephews Orson and Gregory Dear; and countless great-nieces and great-nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her mother, Muriel Dear; her sister, Ernesta Dear; and her son, Kelvin Dear. The family of Jean Elaine Dear acknowledges your kind expression of sympathy. Thank you for your thoughtfulness in sending condolences, attending virtually, and praying for us in this time.
