Obituary of Wilson L. Rivera
Please share a memory of Wilson to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wilson “Wilo” Rivera (52) son of Carmen Cortes and Hector Rivera was born February 16th, 1968. In his passing, he is survived by both of his parents, his daughters, an former wife and forever friend, along with friends and family alike.
A graduate of Cathedral high school, Wilson sought out a higher education at Wentworth University. After some time, he developed a love for mechanics, which swayed him in a different direction, and a life long career had been set in its place.
Mechanic work wasn’t the only thing that came easy to him. His ability to connect with anyone, made him magnetic. Many can attest to his willingness to be an ear to those who needed it, and would talk to you for hours. Talks never short in nature, rather the ones that made you think, and question; talks that opened minds, and provided closure.
While he always kept a clear head, some of his better judgment was clouded by his love for his grandchildren. When they were around, there was no curfew, no laws against ice cream for breakfast, and no request too big or too small for him to handle.
He lived for his loved ones, and committed to their wellbeing and happiness, even in his last moments. Wilson will be painfully and immensely missed by those he left behind. Friends and family will remember him for all the jokes, the laughs, and the light-hearted ways about him. He left a legacy of love for all those he has touched, and will never be forgotten.
John 16:22
“Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
