Obituary of Maurice Lamonte Merritt

Maurice Lamonte Merritt passed away in his home on January 21, 2021, he was 57 years old. Born to the parents of Pearl Mae Roberson (deceased) and Jimmy Merritt. Raised by his stepdad Johnnie J. Roberson. Lamonte was born January 20, 1964. He graduated from West Roxbury High School and attend Northeastern University to complete his degree for pharmacology. He worked as a Pharmacy Tech at Newton Wellesley Hospital along with several other affiliated partners. Lamonte enjoyed music! He started DJing at a young age. He was a DJ at WRBB at Northeastern University and went by the name of Dark Gable. He performed as a DJ on multiple occasions and at various events. Besides, DJing Lamonte loved riding his motorcycle, loved being a Mason and he was a dedicated father to his only beautiful daughter Nya. Lamonte is preceded in death by his mother Pearl Mae Roberson and his brother Jimmy Tyrone Merritt. Lamonte is survived by his daughter, Nya Laurice Merritt, siblings, Judy Merritt, Derrell Merritt, Michelle Jenkins, Christopher Merritt, Jay Merritt, Lakeyda, Merritt, Myron Merritt, Casondra Merritt Thomas, Anthony Thompson, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
