Obituary of Decosta F. McMillan

Decosta F. McMillan, Sr. was born to the late John F. McMillan and Mary E. Dixon Harris on April 10,1940 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The family then move to Boston,Mass in 1951 with his sisters, the late Willa Mae Edwards and Gloria Harris. v attended various schools and while working at a shoe factory in Dorchester, Mass, he met Adell Darby in 1960 who he later married in 1977. Lee had a love for cars, particularly Cadillacs. Whenever you seen in riding around town two things were certain, his cars were always clean and he always had a big smile on his face. Decosta also had a love for driving, so much so, he became a cab driver and drove them for many years. In 1990, Lee became a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Brother McMillan was an active and proud member of the usher board, male chorus and senior choir until his untimely death. Decosta “Lee” McMillan, Sr. was cherished and will be missed by many. He leaves to mourn a wife, Adell McMillan, a daughter Yarsemender Lisa McMillan, sons Decosta McMillan Jr. and Kevin D. Johnson, Sr. as well as a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, children and a great granddaughter.
