Obituary of Roxanne Gillian Jones

Roxanne Gillian Jones was born on January 7, 1971, in Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago to the late Margaret and Winston Christopher.  She was the 4th of her parents’ five children.

Roxanne attended Diego Martin Girls’ RC School and then went on to Diego Martin Secondary School. She furthered her education at Modern Business School and International Institute of Cosmetology and Aesthetics. She became certified in both. She worked as a Sales Manager at Brittanica Encyclopedia and practiced cosmetology with School of Cosmetology. Roxanne was awarded top sales manager while at Brittanica for she had a charm that attracted the majority of clients. She loved beauty and went back to International Institute of Cosmetology and Aesthetics to help train future cosmetologists.

Roxanne left Trinidad and Tobago for vacation in the US in 1997 and met and married Alden Jones in 1999. She attained an Associate Degree from Roxbury Community College and worked with Favorite Nurses, Pelham Academy and Charms Collaborative.

Roxanne loved to attend church, spend time with her family and running. She ran the Boston Marathon 6 times between 2002 and 2013.

Roxanne Gillian Jones passed away in her sleep on Friday, October 13, 2017 in Boston, Mass. She is survived by her husband, Alden; children Brianna, Alexa and Aiden. Sisters Joanne and Katty; brothers Ian and Kempton; Aunt of: Johan, Tevin, Jelani, Jewel, Destine, Jaden; Niece of: Joseph, Garfield, Elmina, Glenroy, Carlyle, Marva and she leaves many cousins both in Boston and Trinidad . She was family of the Christopher, Duncan, Greenaway, Jones, Lopez, Hassell, Atkins, Mc Dermott, Graham, Edwards, Springer and Cummings Families. Special Friend to the Stinson’s and many others.
