Obituary of Agnes B McClaine

Please share a memory of Agnes to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Agnes McClaine was born on August 2, 1945 in Emporia, Virginia.  At the young age of 3, she lost her mother in a tragic fire and was raised by her paternal grandmother, Emma Jane Kane.  Despite having only a 5th grade education, Emma Jane instilled in her granddaughter a love of education and a love of the Lord.  Agnes was raised in the church and was grounded in her faith in Christ.

After completing high school, Agnes went on to nursing school.  In 1973, she moved from Virginia to Massachusetts. Here is where she worked as a nurse in the Boston Community for over 40 years.

Anges may have been small in stature, but she was a strong vibrant woman, with a wonderful sense of humor. She was likely to make you smile.

Though sudden, she passed peacefully on October 24, 2017. Agnes is preceded in death by her parents; Stith and Irene Evans, and her son, Karl Scott McClaine.

Agnes will be remembered and forever loved by her children: Yolanda Robinson and her husband Hikee; Kevin McClaine and his wife, Marcia; Kim Michael McClaine and his fiancé, Kim; Oluranti McClaine, and Ana-Alicia Thompson and her husband, Richard; as well as her 15 beautiful grandchildren and her 5 great- grandchildren.
