To the Family of Jimmy Smith Sr:
The Henry and Crayton Families extend our deepest and sincerest condolences to you during such a difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers today and in the days to come. We pray for strength, peace and comfort; things that only God can truly give.
Jimmy was the downstairs neighbor and good friend of our mother, Artha Mae Henry. They were neighbors, but over the years became more like big sister and little brother. They got on each other’s nerves, and she was always telling him what he needed to do. It was funny because even though they became close, he always referred to her respectfully as Ms. Henry. He became a beloved member of our family.
Jimmy was very kind and helpful to both our mother and grandmother, Josephine Henry. When their health declined, he was always willing to run short errands or perform a household chore that they could no longer physically perform. He always checked on them when we were at either work or out of town, which gave us great comfort.
Jimmy was a very special man with a heart of gold, and we were so blessed to have him in our lives. We loved him, and we will miss his smile, his laugh, his conversations, and acts of kindness, but most of all, we will miss his presence. Jimmy we love you. Rest Forever in Peace.
