Obituary of Beverly A. Dawn

Beverly Ann Dawn was born on January 29, 1937, in Boston, MA, to Conway C. Smith & Gladys I. Smith. Beverly was the youngest of ten children. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She was lovingly referred to as Nana and Aunty B. Our beloved Beverly quietly departed this life at home on May 29, 2021, surrounded by her daughter and granddaughter, Courtney. Beverly spent many years working for Polaroid before her true passion for educating young people to lead her to a career at ABCD Preschool until her retirement. Being a woman of purpose, she went to work the early morning shift at Dunkin Donuts for a couple of years. Beverly met and married the love of her life, the late Edward Sr. in 1961, and from that union came eight children Robert, Richard, Kevin, Beverly II, Edward Jr, James, and Wayne. Beverly loved life. Her infectious laugh automatically puts a smile on your face. She welcomed everyone into her home and showed them, unconditional love. Spending time with her children and family was her greatest joy. Beverly favorite pastimes included word search puzzles, watching sports, playing cards, family time, cookouts, and cooking. Beverly would not wait for her phone to ring; she would pick up the phone and call her loved ones to say "hi" and remind them how much she loved them. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Conway and Gladys Smith; her loving husband Edward Sr.; daughter, Gladys Dawn; siblings, Conway, William, Francis, Raymond, Roy, Dorothy, Avis, and Charlie; and son, Robert Smith. She leaves her Spirit with her brother, Robert Smith; children: Richard (Joanne) Smith, Kevin (Di-Ella) Smith, Beverly Dawn II, Edward Jr (Jessica) Dawn, James Dawn, Wayne Dawn, daughter-in-law Carolyn Smith, 26 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, many great, great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
