Obituary of Fran S. Holmes

Please share a memory of Fran to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Fran S. Holmes was born January 5, 1951, in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late James T Holmes Sr. and the late Bernice (McLamb) Holmes. Fran graduated from Brighton High School in 1967 at the age of 16 and continued her education at Boston State College, receiving a degree in “Business Studies.” Later in life, she began taking classes at Suffolk University to pursue a degree as a paralegal. Fran was a philanthropist, grant writer, and fundraiser and worked as an advocate and case manager. Moreover, she sat on the Board of Chairmen for the Eastern Service Workers of Boston, MA, where she advocated for families in need. Fran helped, housed, and cared for everyone. Despite her health concerns, she never complained of her health; she truly was a “Sacrificial Lamb.” Fran S. Holmes was called home to her Heavenly Father on June 22, 2021. She is survived by her Daughter Alisha D Holmes, Son Daryl L. Holmes, Son Donald F. Holmes, and Partner James Waiters. She lies in wait with her son, the Late Simaron A. Holmes, and Brothers Kevin and James Holmes. In addition, her stepdaughters: Kimberlyn Harrison, Takeena Yancey, Algeria Marsh: foster daughter Karen Anne Clark and Denise Moses, and a host of grandchildren: Tatianna Holmes, Deijon Holmes, Tyler Holmes, Simaria Holmes, Daysi Hale, Dejann Harrison, Devinn Harrison, and Demetrius Harrison, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. “She will be sorely missed, never forgotten, and always loved. He thought it best. He came and stood beside you and whispered, “Come Home.” Sorrowfully submitted, The Family. I AM FREE Don’t grieve for me, for now, I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call, I closed my eyes and left it all. I could not stay just one more day, To love, to laugh, to work, or play. I know my parting has left a void. Fill it with remembered joy. Friendships shared a laugh or kiss, And yes these things I too will miss. Be not burdened in this sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow, My life’s been full, I savoured much, Good friends, good times, my loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seems all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me healed, He set me free.
