Obituary of Michael A. Francis

Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We have heavy hearts and are saddened to announce on the 7th of August 2021, Michael A. Francis Sr. passed away at the young age of 60 years old. Michael Anthony Francis was born on July 17th 1961 in Boston, Ma to the late Paul Francis and surviving Lee Doris Francis. He was the eldest of 5 children and is survived by 3 siblings. After graduating West Roxbury High School in 1979, he married his teenage love Kim Allen in 1984. The two conceived three children by the names of Michael, Shaunte, & Matthew Francis. Michael held many jobs to support his family throughout his life; he was a landscaper, carpenter, armed security guard, and a few others positions before working for the City of Boston. While at the City of Boston he worked very hard to become an inspector and obtained his CDL Class B hoisting engineering license. Michael aka Mike had a passion for singing, he would sing at family functions and definitely wherever he had an audience to enjoy his vocal talent. He would always go out of his way to share his musical knowledge through vocal lessons & sing-offs with close family and friends. He enjoyed the classic sounds of Luther Vandross, Donnie Hathaway, Peabo Bryson & groups like The Manhattans, Stylists, & The Temptations to name a few. He enjoyed cooking and making different sauce concoctions, but most notably for cooking the most buttery, juiciest steak you would ever have. Let it be known that he was definitely known for marinating a meat that taste so succulently and tender, it was out of this world. He was very family orientated man, spending time with his grandchildren & family were consistent reminder for him of how blessed and loved he truly was. In his leisure time on the weekends he would enjoy games of chess, watching boxing & movies, and taking people’s money in a friendly game of blackjack. He also enjoyed taking long drives in his Mercedes Benz while listening to Tony, Toni, Tone, Black Rob, & 50 Cent. Outside of his passions & leisure time, he also made sure to make efforts to visit and keep in close contact with various family members throughout his life . Most of all, he loved spending time with his best friend, his ride-or-die, partner through life, “Cricket” a.k.a. his wife Kim Francis, for the past 37+ years. No matter what marriage held for them they made sure to honor their vows for better or for worst, through sickness and in health, and until death did they part. Never wavering or breaking those vows under any circumstance. Michael is survived by his wife, his three children, 9 grandchildren: Aryana, Ethan, Tiana, Aeydhen, Caden, Aaron, Saige, Saiyuri, & Jovan, and a host of other family members and friends. His unmatched energy will be missed, he will live on through our thoughts and memories, and like the lyrics to one of his favorite songs… “Search through the rain and find a ray of hope still shines” – Peabo Bryson What a bond to break, what a life to take, we’ll be missing you. R.I.P! You will not be forgotten.
