Obituary of Ursilla V Woods

Ursilla Vilma Lewis Woods born on July 7, 1935 in Sixth Company Village, Princes Town to Elizabeth Knott and Theophilus Lewis (deceased) in Trinidad, West Indies She moved to Vance River Village at the age of eight years old. Ursilla attended LaBrea R. C. School. In 1952 she married Augustus Joe Woods(deceased). With this union they reared seven sons. Ursilla migrated to the United States in 1968, without her husband and children, it was the hardest decision she had to make as a mother. After working with a family in Millis Mass for a couple of years, she moved to Boston and worked at the (Bradford Hotel), She also worked at the Nabisco Confectionary in Cambridge and retired after 21 years of service. In 1971 she was united with her family and resided in the South End of Boson then moved to Dorchester. Ursilla was a woman of many talents. She was a self-made seamstress, as sewing became one of her many gifts. She also loved to cook and bake. She made some of the BEST birthday and wedding cakes. She also loved to sing. Ursilla always thought of others and regularly volunteered to feed the homeless and assist others in her community. Ursilla was a member of the Low-Cost Housing Program with the South End Corporation and a member of M.A.H.T and N.A.H.T. She was a sports fanatic and loved her Boston teams. She faithfully watched the games and shout at the television. Ursilla loved her children and made many sacrifices over the years to make sure they had what they needed. She and her husband worked together to support their family and to make sure they had a good life; they always had a place they could come back too. Ursilla always expressed her love for the Lord, the joy of life and love for her church family. Ursilla is sister:to Mamin Thomas of Trinidad, (Sheila Lewis, Carlos Lewis, Emrey, Elisha, Inez, Rosemary deceased)), is survived by her children: Winston, Christopher, Michael, Samuel, Andrew, Kenneth(deceased) and Theophilus. Grandchildren: Dexter, Christopher, Ayana, Stefon, Beverly, Andrew(deceased) Jamaal, Brandon, Wallhem, Allegra, Krystal, Kenneth, Wochard, Jahi, Daniel, Caleb, Shermiah, Sade, Jarreau. Great Grandchildren: Alanna, Giovanni, Damon, Andrew, Alex, Jamaal, Javon, Mason, Alex, Iden, Diana and Augustus. Friends Sisters Sybil, Mother Lewis, and Brother Jerome. Neices: Jemma (Admane), Ancilla, Dianne, Elizabeth, Marva, Shirley, Kathleen, Debra, Juliet, Christine, Christine Beach, Lystra, Michelle, Christine, Rosemary, and others Nephews Leroy, Ryan, Gary, Ronald, Norbert, Ralph. Great Nephews: Derick and others family members.
