Obituary of Ilda De Pina

Please share a memory of Ilda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ilda De Pina, known as Vovo or TiTia to many, passed away peacefully at home in Brockton, Massachusetts on Friday, November 12, 2021 at the age of 93.   Ilda was born on February 5, 1928 in Fogo, Cabo Verde. She was one of 4 children of  Ceza De Pina and Rodovina Rodrigues. She had 7 children: Lidia, Marcelino, Mary, Lizette, Emilie, Henrique and Ildo. Ilda's cheerful, light-hearted spirit often uplifted all with her great sense of humor. She loved to dance and would always bring energy and liveliness to family gatherings. Even in her 90's, she would out-dance most; few could keep up with the vibrance she displayed on the dancefloor, especially to the sounds of funana. She is undoubtedly in heaven close to the speakers, stepping to the heavenly chords.   Ilda is survived by her 7 children: Lidia De Pina, Marcelino Fernandes, Mary Goncalves, Lizette Goncalves, Emilie Goncalves, Henrique Goncalves, and Ildo D. Goncalves; 17 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
