Obituary of Brandon Tyree Ragland

Please share a memory of Brandon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Early Tuesday morning, December 21, 2021, Brandon Tyree Ragland transitioned from this life into eternity at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital in Brockton, Massachusetts. Brandon was born on May 19, 1999 in Boston, Massachusetts to Teresa Alston (Irby) and Eric Ragland. Teresa later married Tarence Irby and together, the blended family raised their beloved son Brandon, with love, compassion, and guidance. Brandon was affectionally called ‘Chico’ by his family, a nickname given to him by his Auntie Lettye when he was just a baby. Brandon attended elementary school at the Boston Renaissance Charter School, middle school at the Smith Leadership Academy, and graduated with his high school diploma from the City on a Hill Charter Public School. Brandon had an infectious smile that would brighten up anyone’s day, a kind and pure heart and a laid back posture. A talented, passionate, and creative artiste, he was an extremely great dancer, singer, and rapper; music electrified his charismatic dance moves. He was also known to showboat his smooth skills on the basketball court. Brandon valued his bond with his family and cherished his role as son, brother, nephew and cousin. He had a true adoration for his mom and recently, he proclaimed her to be the “Best mother in the world” during her birthday celebration; clapping loudly to show his love and appreciation for her. Brandon shared an undeniable love with his siblings and cousins as well. He loved to laugh, make jokes and clown around with everyone and they loved to hype him, encouraging the funny antics. Brandon had an overall amazing vibe that gave his family and peers pure enjoyment whenever he was around. Brandon’s 22 years of life, although short in time, was large, vibrant and impactful in the lives of those who knew him. There will be an everlasting mark imprinted on the hearts of his loved ones because, to know him was to love him. Brandon was preceded in his passing by his grandparents, the late Retha Ragland, the late Donald Ragland and the late Reuben Irby. He leaves to cherish his memory; his parents, his beloved mother and bonus father: Teresa Irby and Tarence Irby, his father and bonus mother Eric Ragland and Rowena Stevens; his brothers (his best friend) Raekwon Ragland, Tarence Irby Jr. and Brandon Eaddy; his sisters, Egypt Ragland, Chyna Irby, Perzah Ragland, Novah Ragland, and Arianna Stevens; his grandparents, his admirable grandmother Mary Powell, Trevor Powell, Mamie Irby, all of Boston, Massachusetts and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. All of whom will miss him deeply and love him forever.
