Obituary of Cheryl Eunice Thomas-Fussell

On Tuesday, June 28, 2022, Cheryl (Teddy) Thomas-Fussell, a Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt to many, passed away from health complications. Cheryl was born on August 2, 1954, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Ms. Eunice Thomas of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and Mr. James (Big Jim) Odom of Norfolk, Virginia. Cheryl also was the youngest of (8) six girls and two boys; during her younger years, she went on to become a student at Quincy Dickermen Elementary School in Boston, Massachusetts, where she excelled in education. Cheryl was blessed with (2) Children, James (Buddah) Gerald Thomas, whom she named after her father and brother of the same namesake, and his younger brother Bobby (BooDay) Edward Fussell, whom she named after his father, Charles Edward Fussell. Cheryl would eventually become a professional Home Health Care worker and a bus monitor for Transcom Bus Transportation Co. Cheryl loved her family and, most importantly, her grandchildren Yvette Moore, Tylea Babbitt, Ta'Mya Weaks, and her great-grandchildren. Cheryl was preceded in death by her brothers Edward (Uncle Mike) Thomas-Bullett, James Thomas, and her sister Doris Thomas-Jones as well as host aunts, uncles, and her nephew Ricky Royston. Cheryl is survived by her children James and Bobby and their children (Yvette, Tylea, and Ta'Mya) respectively, and her significant other Terry Owens, with whom she shared 30 years of life and love. Cheryl is also survived by her grandchildren (Yvette Moore, Tylea Babbitt, and Ta'Mya Weaks) well as her Great-grandchildren (Nova Moore) (Josiah, Elijah Babbitt )and her sisters: Betty Thomas-Royston, Barbara Thomas-Thompson, Mildred Thomas-Chandler, and Silvia Thomas-Woodget as well a large family of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Cheryl also leaves behind Reginald and Marvette Neal whom she loved dearly as her sons and their families the Johnson and Neal family who supported her throughout the years.
