Obituary of Robin Kennedy

“Let us make one point that we meet each other with a smile when it is difficult to smile. Smile at each other, make time for each other, make time for family.” Mother Theresa On Sunday, June 11, 2023 at 7:12am, Robin Ann Kennedy, born August 5, 1959, departed this life at the age of 63. Born to Marion Lord and the late Robert Kennedy, she grew up in Brockton, MA but spent most of her life in Boston, MA. She attended Brockton High School and eventually went to cosmetology school. She also spent an extended amount of time working at Harvard University as a switchboard operator and then worked at AFA Protective Systems. Those who knew Robin, or “Bird” as she was lovingly called, knew her as the life of the party. Getting down on the dance floor was one of her favorite things to do. Fittingly, her favorite color was red because she was known to paint the town red. She also loved throwing down in the kitchen and her famous block party style cookouts, which we will never forget. It was always good times being with her. She was also known for her famous phrases, including “Shut up Shelton!” which she lovingly would say to her partner of nearly 30 years, and “Stop the madness” a catchphrase used when she was out with the girls. Robin Kennedy was a loving, free-spirited, and kind-hearted woman to all those around her. She was a servant to others, who cared about everyone she came into contact with. She was a daughter, a cousin, a friend, a partner, and a mother. She is survived by her mother, Marion Lord; one sister, Vanessa Lord; one brother, Melquan Lord; two children, Nicky and Derri; and her partner Shelton Winspeare. She also leaves behind a nephew, Eli, and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Robin is predeceased by her father, the late Robert Kennedy. Our beloved Robin will never be forgotten. We love you. May you rest in Peace.
