First of all, my heartfelt condolences to the family. I am stunned and saddened by the unexpected passing of my best buddy Saleh. We were good friends since high school. I am happy that the family had chosen to upload a picture that I had taken of him (red shirt / white anchor) around 1974 in Grace Ann's apartment at "Franklin Hill". Saleh was very outgoing and sociable but very disciplined. He had a great sense of humor and a sharp historical recollection of events and people. I will miss the recent long hours we spent laughing out loud over the phone while discussing the past, the present and the future. We were able rely on each other for advice during times of stress and when a rational decision was necessary. He was a true friend...

To my big brother Saleh, I will miss you, but I'm glad to know I have my memories. Say hi to Daddy and lil James for me. You always showed me love. As my older brother it was refreshing to know you valued my point of view even when we disagreed. You know me, I called a spade a spade. I know you are so proud of me because every time we talked you would say that's my "baby sis". You would tell everyone you knew about "your baby sis". I appreciate you for all you've done to protect our Family though many wouldn't understand. Don't worry about Brazil and Londyn you know I got them. Until we meet again. Love your baby sis Leah

To my BIG BROTHER Saleh, Though you chose not to spell my name correctly (Laurelene), I still loved you! Instead you were content with calling me "Grasshopper", "Middle Sister" or 'Skinny Minnie". That was fine because I was all of the above - even Grass Hopper, our inside secret. I no longer have to worry about where you are or what you may be doing. I know now that you are resting peacefully, and now I too can sleep without worrying about your whereabouts. At Bible Study Tuesday night I had the Pastor and my Concord family pray that God's light would shine so you could make your way back home or to a phone. The next day God informed us of your whereabouts. Thank you to my Lord and Savior for always shining his light. May you dream happy dreams and remember your Middle sister Laurlene loves you!! Thank you God for always listening, even when we turn a deaf ear to you. Glory to God!!
