Obituary of Joseph Raymond Lambright

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joseph Raymond Lambright was born on June 29, 1974 to Ray Dukes and Eartha Mae Lambright in Boston, MA. Raymond grew up in Orchard Park (OP) along with his ten brothers and sisters. In OP, he developed long lasting friendships through his participation in many of the community athletic and after school activities. Raymond was always very social and loved being a part of his neighborhood. Many knew him by “Sugar Ray”, and he earned this name because of his admirable entrepreneurial spirit. As a teenager he opened a candy/snack shop from where he sold sweets from his bedroom window. He graduated from East Boston High School in 1992 where he helped his varsity basketball team win a state championship. Following high school, Raymond and his high school sweetheart had two beautiful daughters Kayla in 1996 and Tyla in 1997. Raymond’s girls were his pride and joy. He once said that he made a lot of mistakes in life, but his daughters were the best decisions he ever made. He was very supportive in all aspects of their life and would never fail to “pop up” wherever they were including volleyball games, performances and award ceremonies. Everyone knew he would do anything for them, as they were one of his greatest achievements in life. Around this time, he also gave his life to Christ, his personal Savior. He attended Bibleway Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Willie James as a young adult. Throughout his life he found encouragement through his faith and would often share prayers and scriptures with his friends and family. Many remember him for his willingness to lend a helping hand. Raymond was a great provider and a hard worker. As an adult he supported his family working at various companies in Massachusetts. He spent many years employed at AGAR Meat Packing in Boston, and most recently Belknap White Group in Mansfield, where he just received a promotion. Raymond loved spending time with and cooking for his family. You could always count on at least two large pans of his chicken, broccoli ziti for any family gathering or special occasion. He would always share his passion for cooking on social media (Sugar_Ray21kitchen). In his spare time, he was an avid sports fan and loved rooting for all Boston teams. Raymond loved to fix things, and one of his favorite things he loved to do was to work on his cars especially his Mercedes Benz. Raymond was preceded by his brothers: David Sweatman, Milton Lambright, and Tyrone Lambright. He was a good son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, godfather, and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters: Kayla Lambright and Tyla Lambright of Boston, MA; his mother, Eartha Mae Lambright of Boston, MA; his father, Ray Dukes of North Attleboro, MA; his sisters: Brenda Lambright, Melissa Lambright, and Tammy Sanford all of Boston, MA, Keonia Dukes, Latora Dukes both of North Attleboro, MA; his brothers: Ross Lambright, Tim Lambright (Shena), Eric Lambright, Ricky Lambright all of Boston, MA, Ray Dukes, Jr. (Micheline) of North Attleboro, MA, Rodney Dukes (Jennifer) of Brockton, MA; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
