Dearest Cousin Charles,
My heart was broken when I couldn't visit you in the hospital this last time. You know I would have been visiting you everyday asking you if you need anything.
Most important, I can't thank you enough for welcoming Birdy into your home. The Shepard family is eternally grateful for your love and generosity toward "Curt." My husband Eddie is heartbroken too. He said Charles was a cool dude to meet.
I am going to miss our hour long conversations and all the family history you shared with me on a regular.
Your work is done here on earth because God had bigger and better plans for you in Heaven. Rest Easy Charles, and let all our family in heaven know we miss all of them too.
